A Fianna Fail candidate could face a jail term or hefty fine as one her posters breached election rules by being erected too close to a Dublin polling station.
A poster for Catherine Ardagh, daughter of Dail TD Sean Ardagh, was on a lamp-post within feet of the entrance to the Model School in Inchicore.
The Electoral Act bans posters or canvassers within 50 metres of polling stations during hours of voting. Offenders are each liable to a 1,300 euro fine or six months in prison.
