As revealed here a few weeks ago, Dublin City Council plans to put a new foot and cycle bridge across the Liffey in the park between Islandbridge and Chapelizod. The text of the planning application is below; now, do they have the money to build it?
Notice is hereby given of the proposal by Dublin City Council to carry out park enhancement works and to construct a new footbridge over the River Liffey at Chapelizod, Dublin 20. It is proposed to carry out the following works: - Construct a new footbridge. - Provide new accesses to the park and revised boundary treatment. - layout a series of footpaths and ancillary works. - Provide on street car parking spaces at St Laurence's Road. The plans and particulars of the proposed development may be inspected for a period of six weeks from February 9th 2009 to 24th March 2009 at the following locations: - Dublin City Council, Planning Registry, Block 4, Ground Floor, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 between the hours of 9.00hrs - 16.30hrs, Mon - Fri. - Dublin City Council, Kilmainham Area Office, 637-639, South Circular Road, Dublin 8 between the hours of 9.30hrs - 16.30hrs, Mon - Fri. A submission or observation in relation to the proposed development dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area may be made in writing to the Executive Manager, Planning Department, Dublin City Council, Block 4, Floor 3, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, before 15.30hrs on 7th April 2009.
