New Dublin Development Plan

AuthorMessage DateMessage
Paul Cullen11/02/2009Dublin City Council is currently preparing to draw up a new development plan for the city, covering the years 2011 on. Men in dark suits and hard hats and carrying measuring tape have already been spotted around the area.

Last time round, CIE tried to rezone much of their land in the Works and the council planners obliged by designating double this parcel of land for rezoning.

Only a determined campaign by local residents defeated the proposal.

This time, it's likely they'll try again. The spectre of ill-planned high-rise towering over the historic CIE estate will rise again.

If you are interested in helping to draw up a submission to the council on how WE would like to see our area develop, let us know.

Michael O'Flanagan12/02/2009Is it really worth the effort when Dublin City Council and An Bord Pleanala ignore the zonings when they give their decisions in any case?
Jo12/03/2009Just a reminder that the first deadline for submissions to the new Development Plan is Wednesday 18th March. You can find the Big Issues comment page on the Dublin City Website.
