|vawn corrigan||02/08/2010||hello all, organising the kilmainham arts festival is going well. we have outdoor art exhibition on the rails all around the Courthouse(there is still space for artists to exhibit - e mail firstname.lastname@example.org) Joyce Duffy will organise a collective arts project on the Courthouse plaza, Enda Flynn will be creating art on the streets, Dougal Hazel is directing street theatre, facepainters, a busking competition with cash prizes and independent judges outside the Courthouse. Babpipes, Harps, dancers the works! In the Hilton we have workshops in dance, voice, movement and photography exhibition. In Imma we have a wild flower safari on the grounds, a bring and share picnic with gypsy swing band Locoswing. there are workshops in the two studios - one studio is for children the other for adults. there will be landscape drawing crawls and in the courtyard of Imma a cosplay event. In the Patriots Inn there will be music, a bluegrass jam (bring an instrument), a ceili with live music and in the evening lots of entertainment including Simon Toal's one-man play "the friends of Jack Kairo" (hilarious) followed by the spirited T-Bone Kelly and Bree Harris Band. We aim to make everything either free or for a small donation and it is being run by volunteers. the Dublin City Council have been very supportive of this event and we are excited about it - the first Kilmainham Arts Festival! check out www.kilmainhamartsclub.wordpress.comor e mail us at email@example.com for more information|
