Kevin's Hurling Club History Research

Daithi21/04/2010Kevin's Hurling & Camogie Club were established in 1902 and we are currently researching our club history. We are trying to trace former players or decendents of people who played with the club down through the years. Our members mainly came from Synge Street CBS and as a result a lot of people from Inchicore played for us. Some people we've traced from the neighbouring area of Kilmainham include Vesty Muldowney (one of the few native Jackines who played in an All-Ireland Hurling final) and Freddie Strahan who played international soccer in the 60's. Our website is wwww.kevins.ie and we have just published a history page. Our gallery also includes photos from the past. We're also trying to track decendents of a "McShane" who won many medals with the club in football & hurling. We believe he may have decendentss in Inchicore.
Terry25/06/2010Wish you well, can never understand how you and Synge Street Football club didn't amalgamate.Doing great work in socially challenged ares.
Daithi25/06/2010check out history page on www.kevins.ie. The Synger club appears to have grown out of Kevin's Hurling & Football Club. There was a big push at the time from a number of club to promote GAA for Dubs only. Kevins were always an open club...
Terry26/06/2010Didn't realise that, just with the Temp/Synger scenario, Dolphin pk etc...
.Wish you well
